Land Clearing Services Available in Clermont County

The professional land clearing services in Clermont County we run most: lot clearing for a build in Miami or Union Township, brush clearing on a creek bank, tree clearing on Goshen acreage inside the bat window, stump grinding at $4 an inch, and site clearing with site prep and grading for a pad. Underbrushing comes next.

  • Our land clearing service removes trees and brush, grinds the stumps and leaves the lot staked.
  • Selective clearing keeps the oaks and the sycamores on the bank.
  • Dirt work services, $160 an hour with an operator, excavation for a pond footprint included.

Residential and commercial, both. Tree removal over a roof is a climber's job; I know two. No concrete, no wells, no septic from a land clearing service.

Forestry Mulching on Fragipan Ground: Honeysuckle Mulched in Place

Forestry mulching here is honeysuckle at ground-zero density, the thickest in the state. Our mulching services grind it with the callery pear, tree-of-heaven and multiflora rose, undergrowth and the trees and branches to 8 inches, where they stand. The mulch lays two to four inches deep and holds the creek bank.

Honeysuckle resprouts from the crown, which is why the crown gets ground into the dirt and the regrowth gets sprayed that summer. Callery pear gets cut-stump treatment within minutes. Dead ash and hardwood over 8 inches we fell first. I have cleared honeysuckle since 2017 and nothing in Ohio grows it like these ravines. One season is all it takes for lots here to overgrow. Removing vegetation with the mulcher leaves no piles and no burn question. Point at the woodland you want kept; we remove unwanted vegetation around it.

Lot Clearing for New Homes in Loveland and the Townships

The county wrote 772 single-family permits in 2025 by the Census Building Permits Survey, up 16 percent, with 756 of them in the townships. Residential land clearing here is a homeowner on a creek-bank lot off SR 28 with a wall of honeysuckle and a dead ash by the house. Small residential lots run one day: half acre $2,500, quarter acre $1,700 flat.

Field case in Loveland, written from this side of the line: a 2-acre creek-bank lot with an isolated wetland pocket, Ohio EPA Level 1 filed with the owner, a day and a half, $4,100. Loveland touches Hamilton and Warren too. Commercial land clearing is the SR 32 corridor, where commercial development and master-planned communities take fragipan farmland. The 300-hp mulcher goes to that commercial land. Property development of any size starts with site preparation, and residential jobs get the same price list.

How Much Does Land Clearing Cost Here?

Land clearing in Clermont County costs $1,200 to $5,000 an acre, transport included from Lebanon.

  • Honeysuckle and brush: $1,200 to 2,000 an acre by density.
  • Woodlot understory with dead ash: $1,800 to 2,600.
  • Full clearing to dirt, stumps out: $2,800 to 5,000.
  • Skid steer mulcher $2,500 a day; 300-hp mulcher $3,900 plus transport.
  • Haul-off $600 to 1,100 a load.

Site conditions set the rest: fragipan wetness, slope, stump count. March and April add a day or we wait. The free quote comes from an on-site walk; I walk the property, not a satellite photo. Soil, Season and Vegetation From the Little Miami to East Fork Lake

Clermont County's ground is Avonburg, Rossmoyne and Clermont silt loam over Illinoian till with a fragipan at about 24 inches. Fragipan is Ohio's way of keeping April rain for June. Water perches on it and the ravines cut steep. Near East Fork Lake the woodland is oak and hickory on the ridges, beech and maple on the slopes. Along the Little Miami River and O'Bannon Creek it is sycamore bottoms with a hawthorn fence line on the agricultural land above.

Frozen, mud or dust, pick one. I walked a Stonelick Township lot last spring and the flat held standing water beside a dry ridge 40 feet away. The drainage swales stay open through the cleanup.

Burn Rules, Wetlands and Permits Before You Clear

Burning land-clearing brush is out on nearly every lot in the county. Ohio EPA OAC 3745-19 bars open burning inside corporation limits, and the cities and villages cover most of what we clear. Where it is legal the pile sits 1,000 feet from a neighbor's house with written notice to Ohio EPA; ODNR Forestry bars daytime burning in spring and fall. So we mulch or haul.

A pad needs the Clermont County Permit Central building permit plus a zoning certificate from Miami, Union, Goshen, Batavia or Stonelick Township. Clearing alone on acreage needs no permit at all, and farm use is exempt from township zoning under ORC 519.21. At 1 acre of disturbance Clermont County Water Resources and Clermont SWCD review the erosion and sediment control plan. I wrote those plans for fourteen years on I-71 pads.

Fragipan flats are where isolated wetlands hide. Ohio EPA Level 1 covers fill to half an acre, and fill triggers it, not clearing. We flag it and file with you. Streams go to the USACE Huntington District. Trees over 3 inches on tracts over 1 acre come down October 1 to March 31 for the Indiana bat. OUPS 811 before any stump work. Goshen tornado debris from 2022 on a private lot was the owner's; FEMA covered public roads.

Frozen-Ground Land Clearing December to February

Frozen ground is the only land clearing season I trust on fragipan, December through February. The flats that perch water in April carry the mulcher flat in January, no ruts and no mud surcharge, bat window open. The Loveland creek lot ran in a frozen week. Book early.
